Trainers & Coaches seeking certification in FY 2018-19 must attend this training & opt in to the TIC Training Certification Cohort after participating in this event. Participants who attend this TIC Training on August 28-29 are not required to opt in to the cohort described below.
Due to limited space and to ensure a quality learning environment please prioritize attendance at the training to the TIC Trainer at your respective agency – limit 2 people from each participating agency.
By the end of this two day training, participants will be able to:
- Define trauma.
- Describe the effects of trauma and how a child’s trauma history affects his or her behavior.
- Explain how a child’s environment can trigger traumatic memories.
- Clarify the important role of the caregiving team in engagement, assessment, planning, and enhanced resiliency for children & families.
- Identify best practices when working with children & families who have experienced trauma.
- Assess and address signs of secondary traumatic stress and burnout.

Trauma Informed Care Training Certification Cohort FY2018-19 Individuals who opt in to this process will commit to the pilot TIC Training Certification Cohort, which requires successful completion of the following:
- Completion of the TIC Training August 28-29 in Sacramento
- Six 2-hour webinars
- Participation in the TIC Regional Communities of Practice or related workshop at the Network/CAPPA Joint Annual Conference 2018
- A two-day TOT for cohort participants to deliver training material to each other
There will be an opportunity after this two-day training to opt in to the first cohort to become a certified trainer of this curriculum; registration will be open immediately following the training. Cohort participants will be required to participate in six webinars and an additional two-day training in December (Sacramento).

Cancellation Policy The cancellation deadline is Monday, August 20, 2018; paid registration fees will not be refunded and unpaid registrations will be billed if cancellations are not submitted in writing to redmunds@rrnetwork.org by this deadline or in case of no-show.
