 |
| The Maritime Nexus: Re-connecting Landsmen with Their Seagoing Heritage |
The Naval Historical Foundation and Historic Ships in Baltimore, home port of USS Constellation, USS Torsk, USCGC Taney, LV-116 Chesapeake and Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse, are pleased to host the 9th Maritime Heritage Conference within the City's historic Inner Harbor.
Held every three years, this conference provides an opportunity for members of local, national, and international maritime heritage and preservation organizations to meet, exchange ideas about issues affecting the broader community, and have a great time while doing so! In the past, a number of organizations have held their annual meetings in conjunction with the conference. The MHC planning team will work to coordinate these meetings with the overall program.
The Hyatt Regency Baltimore, overlooking USS Constellation in her home berth will be the site of the 2010 conference. In addition to Historic Ships in Baltimore and the Naval Historical Foundation other conference hosts are the National Maritime Historical Society, the National Maritime Alliance, the Historic Naval Ships Association and several local maritime organizations. The annual meeting of the Historic Naval Ships Association and several other maritime organizational forums will run concurrently with this conference.
