Understanding autism for colleagues

Key aims
Our experienced trainer will deliver the workshop using materials developed alongside autistic adults in employment. Through directed learning and discussion with other managers you will be able to develop the skills to effectively manage an employee with autism.

Course content
This course will enable you to: 

-       Increase your understanding of autism
-       Discuss the strengths an autistic colleague may bring to the workplace and  
        strategies to ensure these strengths are being used effectively
-       Discuss some difficulties your autistic colleague may face and why
-       Discuss some practical strategies and increase your confidence when working with
        your colleague

Who is the course for?
This half-day course is suitable for all employees who work alongside an autistic colleague.     Cancellation refund policy: If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you providing that cancellation is received within 14 days of concluding this contract. If, after this cancellation period has expired, you find you are not able to attend, we regret that we are not able to refund any of your fees paid. However, we will credit you with that sum which you may use as part (or full, if appropriate) payment for another NAS course or conference within 12 months of the original event. Substitutions can be made without charge up to 3 days prior to the event.

    The NAS reserves the right to cancel events due to events outside its control (e.g. weather, illness of a speaker). Every effort will be made to give delegates as much notice as possible, although this may not always be possible in some circumstances. It is advisable not to make any travel arrangements until shortly before the event takes place.

  • What is included in the cost
    Your payment includes a place on the course. Any other costs incurred for travel or overnight stay is the responsibility of the delegate.
