STAGES will provide secondary school students and teachers the opportunity to work with culturally diverse Ontario artists over a two day conference at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. Professional artists will create experiences for drama students of all levels, exploring the importance of drama as a tool to identify, deconstruct and understand global issues and communities. While students will gain valuable development of their performance skills, the conference will also challenge students to explore how drama can be a catalyst in our understanding of social issues, past and present, and how the arts allow us to explore with depth the cultural, personal and emotional ramifications of these issues. As
STAGES opens up students' minds to the power of the arts and their individual artistic voices, it will also leave educators with potential activities and guest-artists to bring back to the classroom. We are excited to have you join us!
