Online Abstract Submission
Abstracts must be submitted
via the website no later than July 15, 2008. An e-mail confirming
receipt will be sent to the submitter. Go

Notification of author
acceptance will be emailed by August 1, 2008. Schedule notifications
will also be sent at that time.
Presentation Options
Two options are available
for presentations. Indicate your preference on the submission
form. The options include:

Oral presentation (10-minute presentation plus 5 minutes for question and answer; one presenter per abstract)

Poster session (The poster session will be held in the evening along with a reception, and will not compete with any other sessions. Authors are required to be available for discussion of their work during the poster session.)
Selected abstracts not accepted for oral presentation may be accepted for presentation in poster form. Posters will remain on display during the entire conference.
Evaluation Criteria
The Scientific Organizing
Committee encourages you to submit abstracts that support
the theme of the conference: Public Health Action
towards Awareness, Prevention, and Treatment.
Preference will be given to abstracts that address public
health issues and initiatives that pertain to the conference
session topics of interest. In addition, the purpose/objectives
should be clear and well described, and work should reflect
rigorous scientific methods or appropriate planning and evaluation
methods.
Format and Text Requirements
Length
The abstract title should not exceed 100 characters including spacing. The abstract text should contain no more than 350 words.
Format
The abstract should be composed in Times New Roman font, type size 12, and should be double spaced.
Content
The online abstract submission form will ask you to cut and paste your abstract into the designated section. Your abstract should include the following components:

Background: Provide a brief introduction to the problem or area of interest

Objectives: State the primary objective of the paper and the hypothesis tested, if applicable

Methods: Describe the study design, procedures, and/or materials

Results: State the main results of the study
-
Conclusions: Describe the interpretation of the results and the conclusions that can be drawn from the study
In addition, the abstract form will ask for a brief statement (no more than 75 words) on the study's implications for congenital CMV programs, policy, and/or research.
Confirmation
We will notify abstract
submitters via email whether the abstract is accepted by August
1, 2008. In that communication, information will be included
on the type of presentation format, date, and time. If the
abstract is accepted, the submitter will receive a request
to confirm availability to attend the conference and make
the presentation.
