This course is designed to prepare students to pass the PMI® Project Management Professional (PMP®) exam on the first attempt. Students use PMI® certified training material and engage with PMP® certified instructors to learn the terminology, tools, and techniques that are required to take a project from the initiating process through planning, executing, controlling, and closing. In addition to providing students with an overview of key concepts from PMI®’s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, Sixth Edition (PMBOK®), this course is designed to provide the contact hours required to take the exam as well as the knowledge needed to help students pass the PMP® Exam on the first attempt.

• Identify and understand the relationships between the PMI’s® project management framework, five process groups, and ten bodies of knowledge

• Apply project initiation tools and techniques in order to develop a project charter 

• Develop a flexible and practical project management plan covering the major project lifecycle processes and phases 

• Determine the best practice tools, techniques, and processes to plan for quality, human resources, communication, risk, and procurement management 

• Explain project execution’s relationship to integration management, the factors that contribute to success, and the tools and techniques used 

• Apply monitoring and control techniques to measure progress on the project and forecast project completion 

• Administer the processes for closing a project and completing project procurement 

• Apply the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct to specific situations

• Engage with instructors and students during class to enhance learning
