Description:
Implementing a high-quality curriculum like OpenSciEd is more than simply teaching content. It is embracing an Instructional Model that reimagines what teaching and learning looks like in the science classroom.
Join PIMSER RTP Stephanie Harmon and PIMSER Teacher Fellow Crystal Rudd as they share how to navigate the OSE Instructional Model and explore the 5 routines where students share an experience, investigate different questions that arise from that experience, put the pieces together from those investigations, and then problematize the next set of questions to investigate.
Build your confidence as we examine how the units are designed, where the resources are located, and how to navigate key aspects of the curriculum that will make a difference in instructional planning.
Leave confident in guiding your students through these instructional routines and how to pace this instruction.
Be able to share the “why” behind the curriculum with all stakeholders and discuss how it aligns to what we know about student learning.
Learn from others in the room who have also started on this journey.
