Berklee City Music Network Conference 2013
BOARD TRACK

For the first time, join Board Members from each Berklee City Music Network site for a full day dedicated to board development.  We’re incredibly excited to welcome Jeff Walker, Philanthropist and Berklee City Music Advisory Board Member, as the keynote speaker for the day.

Tuesday, October 29 will be Board Development Day, and in the morning all conference attendees will hear from Andrew Davis (Founder of Music Empowers Foundation) and Gina LaRoche (Seven Stones Leadership Group) as they present topics intended to strengthen your organization’s fundraising strategies and board development. In the afternoon there will be a more intensive board track for network board members and executive leaders/administrators.

Through this track we will discuss several key components that include:
  • Transformation - creating a collaborative board and galvanizing a generosity network of community stakeholders into action.
  • Connecting through your story - finding common ground in like passions.
  • Overcoming the fear of fundraising, including "the big ask"; building relationships first—it’s not all about the money.
Along with being a longtime supporter of Berklee College of Music and Berklee City Music, Jeff has a new book coming out called The Generosity Network, which is a guide to nonprofit management and development. A complimentary copy of The Generosity Network will be given to each board member/administrator from a Berklee City Music Network site in attendance

The day concludes with the option of signing up for one of the board dinners, which can be done on site at the registration table. Each dinner will cover one of the following topics: Relationship Building, Telling Your Story and Raising Funds. Facilitated by one of the day's speaker. Each attendee is responsible for paying there own dinner.
