FREE Shade Trees for your Home!
The City of Mesa is excited to offer up to two FREE desert-adapted shade trees to Mesa residents through our Trees Are Cool Initiative! Our goal is to expand the city's tree canopy by providing residents with the knowledge and resources to plant, foster, and record their shade trees throughout the community.Trees reduce urban heat, can lower A/C costs, and clean the air around us- so help us grow a cooler, more resilient Mesa for future generations by planting in your neighborhood today!Please carefully read all the information below before registering.*Por favor, haz clic aquí para inscribirte en español.*

Shade Tree Workshop & Pickup Details:- Workshop Times: Participants will choose EITHER the 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. session when registering.
- Workshop Format: Participants will be assigned to a small group and rotate through five interactive tree care stations before selecting their tree(s).
- Please note that the entirety of the workshop lasts approximately 90 minutes, not including tree selection and pick-up.
- Tree Selection: Participants may choose one or two FREE trees from this list (View the six types of desert-adapted trees offered), depending on availability.
- Tree Pickup: Trees must be picked up at the end of the workshop on the same day.
Utility Information:
- **NOTE: If your address is within Mesa Electric service territory, you'll receive a map of known overhead utility lines when you arrive.
- Contact Arizona811 at least two business days before digging to have underground utilities located and marked. It's FREE, easy, and required by law so you can safely plant your trees.

- An email address is required to register. If you do not have access to email, please contact Trees Matter via email or phone.
- After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email from Trees Matter through rsvpBOOK. If you don't see it, please check your spam or junk folder.
- Trees Matter may contact you by email or phone if there is an issue with your registration.
- By registering, you agree to share your registration information with Trees Matter, a nonprofit organization working with the City of Mesa, and rsvpBOOK, Trees Matter's event registration provider.
