In this dynamic two-day session, join PIMSER Regional Teacher Partner Jamie Marie Miller to explore how to build a Thinking Classroom where all students feel supported and are encouraged to persevere through complex and unfamiliar problems.

While algebra will serve as the central focus of this session, the strategies and approaches you’ll gain are applicable across all areas of mathematics. Through engaging, hands-on learning, you’ll leave equipped with a wealth of classroom-ready techniques that promote deep mathematical thinking, reflection, and meaning-making—by and with your students.

No matter the curriculum you use, these methods will elevate critical thinking, strengthen student agency, and foster productive mathematical discourse essential for long-term understanding.

Whether you're a classroom teacher or an instructional coach, this session will provide practical tools and a renewed vision for what’s possible in secondary mathematics. Registration also includes a copy of a resource book of tools that will be practiced during the session, and refreshments are available throughout the day.
