Are you working to implement OpenSciEd (OSE) with your elementary, middle and/or high school students?
You may be considering starting your first unit or you may have been implementing OpenSciEd and want to continue deepening your understanding of this curriculum.
Join PIMSER and other teachers from across the region as we deepen our understanding necessary for effective implementation. This includes a focus on planning, navigating, and strategies that are used within this curriculum.
Why should I be part of this group?
Engage with other science teachers from across the region who are also shifting their instruction as they implement this high quality resource with their students. Teachers with a network of support are often more successful with implementing necessary shifts required for students to deepen their knowledge of things that occur in the natural or design world.
Raise your personal ceiling to implement a unit of your choice from the OSE curriculum by enhancing your ability to guide students to make sense of what they are figuring out.
Plan for how you will use what you learn during the cadre sessions as you plan for classroom implementation during each session with experts in the room to support.
Who should attend?
Any ELE, MS or HS teacher who is implementing OpenSciEd. You may be considering starting your first unit or you may have been implementing OpenSciEd and want to continue deepening your understanding of this curriculum.
There will be two groups: an ELE group and a MS/HS group. This allows us to address questions within specific units and consider what is developmentally appropriate for the grades/courses we teach. The groups meet on the following dates:
