Foundations in Teaching (FiT) is designed to support instructors at all stages of their teaching careers—whether you are a graduate student preparing to teach for the first time, an adjunct balancing multiple courses, or a full-time faculty member seeking to refine your instructional approach. Rooted in the principles of Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning (2nd ed.) by James Lang, FiT offers practical, research-based strategies that can be applied across disciplines. The workshops emphasize a “small teaching” approach, focusing on incremental yet powerful changes that enhance student learning and engagement.
