FisherFolk Activities and Adventures

Opportunities are available everyday for walks and hikes in our area.  We will be providing a map of trails for you with your registration.  For those not taking workshops on weekdays, there are some great day walks we can recommend.  Other opportunites for activities may be arranged directly with local agencies.

Options for adventuring that may require prebooking on any of the days include: Flight Seeing, Bike rides, Glacier Trips, Halibut Fishing Charters, and Kayak Excursions.  The following agencies in town may be contacted as noted below. For certain agencies see below for discounts offered to those who mention they are with the Fiber & Friends event.

CORDOVA AIR
Flight seeing trips available. Get together with a group of friends and charter a flight seeing tour. This is one a personal favorite. Cordova AIr is reliable and safe. Families in Cordova rely on them for air travel in the region.  Prices coming soon.

CORDOVA GEAR BIKING ADVENTURES:
Bicycle Rentals on their fat tire bikes available through Cordova Gear. The owner, Natasha, a knitter, is kindly offering Fiber & Friends participants discounted rates for bike rentals when pre booked and pre payed and let them know that they are a Fiber & Friends registrant.  They will reserve and hold a bike for a certain time for you. $30/2hrs, $60/day and $95 for two days $310 week.

They do not charge for group rides, people need to either rent in advance or show up 15 mins before with their bike.  Natasha will plan a ride on both Wednesday along Orca Road to the Orca Adventure lodge and Thursday out Power Creek Road to the culvert, both departing from Cordova Gear at noon. I would suggest reserving a bike for either of those times if you would like to be a part of either of the group rides.



ORCA LODGE ADVENTURES:

4 Hour KAYAK EXCURSION
If you are looking for a longer kayak experience, Orca Lodge offers a 4 hour kayak excursion that leaves from Orca Lodge.  They are offering an event rate of $60 which includes drinks and snacks. Call Orca Lodge for booking.        


HALIBUT EXCURSION 

Halibut trips are also available. Rates are $325 per angler, $227.50 for Jr anglers 18 and younger. All is included along with lunch and all fish processing and packaging.



For 4 HOUR KAYAK EXCURSION AND/OR  HALIBUT EXCURSION, you will have to contact Orca Lodge directly and mention you are with the Net Loft FIber & Friends: FisherFolk Event.

GLACIER TOURS

Trips to the Child's Glacier available from both Orca Lodge and Riverside Inn.
