A variety of other activities have been planned  for Fiber & Friends that will be available each day.  Some will be announced now, and others will be scheduled closer to the event.

MORNING WALKS:  For those of you who are early risers and enjoy a morning walk,  we will have two options, with leaders for each.  Cordova is a safe and wonderful  place to walk with beautiful vistas in all directions.  There will be an extra early brisk morning walk for those who would  like to take a walk, then a yoga class, OR for those who just like an early start.   This will leave at 6:30 am and begin and end  at the site of the yoga class.   There will be a more casual walk scheduled at 7 am - 8 am.  Each day will feature a different walk in a different direction.

YOGA:  Daily Morning Yoga will be available.  You may preregister to insure a space, (on registration page) or may drop in if space is available.

                                                                             yoga for knitters
                                                                                    k2 OM1
A playful blend of yoga and knitting class

                                                                  Instructor:  Alyssa Kleissler

Discover connections between patterns in yoga with patterns in knitting while:

•   focussing on the musculature and anatomy of the hands, wrists and fingers - both strengthening & drawing more awareness to possible negative habits
•   releasing and opening the shoulder, neck & head area •   practicing various pranayama (breathing techniques) to help focus the mind and bring clarity to our work
•   using our lavender eye bag knitting project as a springboard for yoga postures and sequence
•   preparing the body, mind and heart for the day ahead of us!

All yoga mats and props provided by Current Rhythms - a place for movement.

KNIT & CHAT SESSIONS:  Join old time dear friends and fiber artists Lori Goldman and previous Cordova resident Bonnie Morris Phillips for an informal, drop-in, chance to tell stories, pick up knitting tips, make new friends, ask questions, spin a little, have a cup of tea, and explore ideas.
Sign up not required, but encouraged.  Drop-ins welcome. Bring your current fiberart project and supplies.  Spinners welcome.
DAILY HIKES: We can advise you on the local trails within walking distance of town.    Also, we draw closer to the event and as we hear your interest, we can schedule hikes if there are small groups who want to plan a hike together.

LOCAL MUSEUMS:  Registrants will be able to visit our local museums at no extra charge.  Our Historical Museum will be featuring a special Native Fiber Arts Exhibit to coordinate with our event.

ART TOUR:  We love art and we love our local artists!  We are planning a visit to the David Rosenthal Studio on Adventure Day. but can put another tour together if there is interest on a different afternoon of after workshops one day during the week.  See Adventure Day for more details on David Rosenthal.

NIGHT OWL KNITTERS:  For those who are wanting a later night knit and come to life in the night  (which will still be light out) hours, we will be having  a Midnight Sun gathering each night after the evening program.   All Fiberartists welcome.   We might pick different spots to take our group, but  most of the nights, we will simply rendezvous upstairs at The Net Loft.

TRUNK SHOWS:

Quince & Co Linen Trunk Show will be featured at The Net Loft during this event. Quince & Co is one of our gracious Net Loft Fiber and Friends sponsors.
